Winter dreams in the middle of summer
While most people are still walking barefoot through summer, at PAPER & TEA we’re already dreaming of snowflakes, quiet winter mornings, and festive moments. That’s when our Winter Collection comes to life. This year, it carries a very personal touch — that of our in-house designer Sylvia. She didn’t just create its look, but infused it with soul and atmosphere. With a delicate line, a sense of humour, and a keen feeling for what winter truly is: a blend of calm, light, and a little bit of magic.

From first idea to final design
Before the first illustration takes shape, one thing is always certain: the tea. “The blends set the tone,” Sylvia explains. “They define the mood — whether it’s warm, crisp, or playful.” From there, the packaging unfolds — a visual translation of flavour, mood, and story. Step by step, design and product grow together, until they form a collection that not only looks beautiful but feels perfectly in tune.
The concept behind the 2025 Winter Collection
“The starting point was a “Wimmelbild” — a kind of playful, detailed winter scene for grown-ups,” Sylvia tells us. From that sketch emerged an entire illustrated world of winter, one that stretches across our Advent Calendar and our seasonal tea packaging. “Each illustration needed to stand on its own, but also connect to a bigger picture — scene by scene, moment by moment.” You’ll find it across our new winter blends Winter Glow, Winter Snow and Winter Light. Place the packs side by side, and their reverse sides reveal a lovingly drawn landscape — snow falling, cats hanging stars, and small stories unfolding between the lines. Simply enchanting.

Winter Glow in deep blue and warm golden brown
Sylvia’s illustrated winter world is calm and lively all at once — a crisp winter’s day that feels warmer through shared moments and movement. Her colour palette of soft beige, deep blue, and golden brown captures that feeling beautifully. “I wanted colours that work both on the shelf and at home — cozy, but elegant,” she says. The result? Packaging that doesn’t just hold tea, but emotion — designs that tell a story and bring a smile every time you look at them.
Small details, big impact
Between snowy hills, glowing windows and dancing reflections, little stories are waiting to be found. “My favourite detail?” Sylvia laughs. “Definitely the Perfect Day scene — a child hanging a star on the tree, helped by a cat perched above.” It’s exactly these hidden moments — playful, heart-warming, slightly cheeky — that make the collection come alive.
Thank you, Sylvia, for your creativity, your passion, and for giving this winter a playful glow.
